Missoula & Bitterroot Gives

This April and May, Writing Coaches of Montana is participating in Missoula & Bitterroot Gives! We hope to raise $10,000 in community support to keep our program free of charge and allow us to work with even more students in the 2026–2027 school year. Interested in supporting local students?

We are asking for your support to help us keep our programs entirely free of charge for all the schools we work with. In fall 2024, we eliminated all school fees and saw an immediate 30% increase in interest among local teachers, with interest continuing to rise. We know that keeping our program free is essential to maintaining these support for local students and reaching even more students in the 2026–2027 school year.

Longtime teacher partner and Sentinel High School teacher Tammi Allison shared:

“In my thirty years of teaching, and decades of partnering with WCM, I can unequivocally attest to the power of this program. Not only do students have one-on-one time to work with an attentive adult on their writing, but students also see that education, and writing in particular, matters to our community."

Hamilton High School teacher Jen Carmody echoes this praise:

“I have seen students who were reluctant to visit with adults about their writing change their opinion of it even after one short session. They gleaned new perspectives and ideas to help their voices come to life. For students (especially!) who don't love school, this perspective helps them see that there is purpose in communication and writing outside of classroom walls.”
